Research Priorities

  1. Monitoring Climate Change and Its Causes in Iran: Utilizing advanced techniques to process meteorological data over past decades in various regions of the country.
  2. Assessing the Impact of Climate Change on Health in Iran and Globally: Focus on identifying and evaluating the health impacts of climate change, particularly on vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and disadvantaged socioeconomic groups.
  3. Developing and Evaluating Climate Resilience and Adaptation Strategies: Researching and designing strategies to enhance community resilience and adaptation to the health impacts of climate change.
  4. Evidence-Based Policy for Mitigating Health Damage from Climate Change: Analyzing and improving policies related to climate change and health.
  5. Examining the Impact of Climate Change on Disasters: Studying how climate change increases the frequency and intensity of natural and human-made disasters.
  6. Impact of Climate Change on Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases: Investigating how climate change affects patterns and prevalence of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
  7. Impact of Climate Change on Air Quality and Respiratory Health: Studying the effects of climate change on air quality and respiratory diseases.
  8. Impact of Climate Change on Water Resources and Water Stress: Investigating how climate change affects water resources and water stress across the country.

  1. Quantifying Climate Change in Different Regions of Iran: Studying long-term trends and the extent of climate and weather-related variables across different regions of the country.
  2. Quantifying the Impact of Climate Change on Health: Developing and conducting epidemiological studies to identify and mitigate the negative health impacts of climate change on communities.
  3. Resilience to Climate Change in the Health Sector: Exploring factors that reduce vulnerability and increase resilience to climate change in health-related areas.
  4. Policy in the Area of Health and Climate Change: Thoroughly analyzing the effects of health policies on reducing the negative impacts of climate change and improving public health.
  5. Forecasting and Assessing Extreme Weather Events from Climate Change and Their Impact on Health: Predicting and assessing the effects of extreme weather events caused by climate change on health in different parts of the country.
